Workshop

Writing for publication – what are journal editors looking for?
Sunday 8 June, University of Hong Kong
Publishing research involves much more than conducting ethical research and writing it up for publication. Editors of high-ranking journals receive an ever-increasing number of submissions, forcing them to make tough decisions about what to send out to reviewers. This workshop explains the background work of academic journals so that authors better understand how to get their valuable research message past the editor’s desk-screening and out to readers. By considering these issues from the editorial perspective, authors can increase their chances of being published.

Learning outcomes for participants:
Authors will develop a clearer understanding of:
-
How to write a helpful title for an article
-
How to structure an abstract
-
How to target the right publication outlet
